TAKING LOVING CARE OF YOUR MALA..
Honour it. Cleanse it. Wear it with love.
Your mala is more than just a beautiful accessory—it’s a sacred tool for mindfulness, intention, and connection. Like anything meaningful, it deserves care and respect.
Here are a few simple ways to look after your mala:
Keep it sacred – Try not to let your mala touch the ground. When not in use, store it in the special Lush Mala Beads pouch, altar space, or somewhere clean and peaceful.
Avoid water – While many malas are strong, they’re often made with natural materials like silk, Rudraksha, or porous gemstones. Avoid wearing them in the shower or ocean to keep the thread and beads in good condition.
Cleanse the energy – Your mala absorbs the energy around it. Cleanse it regularly by placing it under the moonlight, gently smudging it with sage or palo santo, or leaving it on a piece of selenite or clear quartz overnight.
Be gentle – Each bead is hand-knotted with care. Avoid pulling or tugging, and remove it before sleeping or doing vigorous activities.
Re-infuse your intention – From time to time, hold your mala in your hands and reconnect with your original intention—or set a new one. This keeps its energy aligned with your journey.
With a little care, your mala will stay with you for many years—growing more beautiful and meaningful with time.
WHEN A MALA BREAKS..
It’s not just a break—it’s a beautiful sign of completion.
In many traditions, a broken mala means it has served its purpose. You’ve moved through a cycle, released something, or grown in some way.
It’s a moment to reflect, honour the journey, and set new intentions. You can re-string it, keep the beads on your altar, or return them to nature with gratitude.
A broken mala is not the end—it’s a new beginning.
PLEASE NOTE:
Breaking of the cord is not considered a product fault due to the very high quality of the cord used and Lush Mala Beads doesn’t take any responsibility for breakages caused due to lack of care or mistreatment. Please note the cord used is the best quality 100% natural silk imported from Germany.
If your mala breaks within 30 days of purchase, we will happily repair it for you for no charge.
Otherwise you can have your mala restrung for a small fee.
RETURNS..
Lush Mala Beads is unable to accept any returns due to change of mind as the crystals and Rudraksha/Rudrani beads absorb the oil from the skin and energy of their wearer. Please see repair policy above.
